"Eldritch Mason's Gavel" is a piece born of shadow and ancient influence. Hewn from dense Black Locust over many dark nights, this endgrain mallet is designed to preside over gatherings, ceremonies, and unknown rituals.
The form was first turned on the lathe, then painstakingly carved with reaching tentacles, runes, and a great, never-blinking eye. To pull the shadows from the grain, the wood was darkened with ferrous acetate, with the finest details woodburned into the surface. A carved runic band encircles the head—a symbolic barrier intended to halt the spread of the Eldritch corruption.
Finished with a blend of tung and orange oils to seal the wood, this gavel is a heavy, tactile artifact. Whether it is wielded for a righteous cause or falls prey to the influence within its grain, only time will tell.
