The Artist

My name is Chris, and I've been a maker for as long as I can remember. Creating with my hands is how I find clarity and peace. For my entire life, whether through my own art or by helping others create, I've been on a creative journey. It has been a difficult one, filled with its share of heartbreak and rejection—from a curious youth asking honest questions in church to a professional misunderstood by schools and corporate jobs for my intelligence and engaged nature. I have often felt like an outcast.

The most profound challenge came when I lost my first child to cancer, a devastating event that left a hole in my soul. For me, moments of stillness have always been a struggle, but that all disappears when I'm creating. While I've explored many art forms—2D, 3D, blacksmithing, leatherworking, and traditional woodworking—none has ever called to me the way woodturning does. It's more than a craft; it's a way to silence the noise and my own demons. It's my way of adding something beautiful and meaningful to the world.

Through my work, I hope to share that beauty and solace with others, creating pieces that speak to the heart and provide a moment of stillness and peace for you, too.
